dnota AirQuality Corp, the Florida-based subsidiary of dnota, deployed advanced air quality IoT sensors in Queens and the Bronx, boosting the NYC DEP’s environmental efficiency.
During the pilot phase, eight solar-powered Bettair® air quality IoT sensors were installed at strategic locations in Queens and the Bronx. These sensors collected hyperlocal, real-time data on:
– Gaseous pollutants (NO₂, NO, CO, O₃)
– Particulate matter (PM₁, PM₂.₅, PM₁₀)
– Meteorological data (temperature, humidity, pressure)
– Environmental noise levels
Thanks to this air quality monitoring platform, the NYC DEP was able to:
- Automate the collection, analysis, and reporting of environmental data
- Reduce routine inspections and optimize field resources
- Lower carbon emissions by cutting unnecessary travel
- Make faster, more accurate decisions through proactive alerts

“The Bettair® technology significantly reduces our day-to-day operational burden by improving both the quality and accessibility of environmental data”
This successful pilot solidifies dnota AirQuality Corp as a key player in deploying Smart City solutions across the U.S. It also confirms the Bettair® platform as a powerful tool to support urban air quality policies, sustainable mobility, and public health strategies.
Thanks to its scalable design, user-friendly interface, and seamless integration with reference stations, Bettair® air quality monitoring platform adapts to a wide range of urban environments—turning complex environmental data into actionable decisions.
